On November 19, a strategic cooperation agreement and unveiling ceremony for the "Judicial Application Scenario Laboratory" was held at the Digital Center of the Guizhou Provincial High People's Court. The event marked a collaborative partnership between Guizhou Provincial High People's Court, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, and Guizhou University. Academician Song Baoan, President of Guizhou University, attended the ceremony and officially inaugurated the “Judicial Application Scenario Large Model Laboratory”. The partnership aims to foster the intelligent development of the "digital court" initiative.
Since 2017, the research team at Guizhou University has been actively collaborating with the Guizhou Provincial High People’s Court to promote the development of smart courts. The team has led a series of key projects, including “Smart Court Data Fusion Analysis and Integrated Application Demonstration” and “Research on Key Technologies and Knowledge-Based Question-Answer Applications for the Smart Court Brain”.
According to Qin Yongbin, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Technology at Guizhou University, the university has gained extensive experience in the field of intelligent justice. It has assisted the Guizhou Provincial High People's Court in the deep application of big data technology in judicial business, earning national recognition as an “Outstanding Case” during the “13th Five-Year Plan” for “Smart Court” construction. The team also released the first legal big model in Guizhou Province's legal field. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and edge-cloud computing, the partnership aims to address the challenges faced by the court in its digital transformation. This collaboration is expected to further promote the digital transformation and intelligent exploration of the judiciary in Guizhou Province.
Under the framework of the strategic cooperation agreement between the Guizhou Provincial High People's Court and Guizhou University, a “Digital Court” Framework Cooperation Agreement was signed. The aim of the agreement is to leverage each party’s expertise to strengthen technical cooperation, deepen the integration of scenarios and technologies, foster advancements in judicial artificial intelligence, and enhance the scientific research capabilities of Guizhou Province in the field of judicial artificial intelligence. It will also help cultivate qualified professionals in judicial artificial intelligence.
Mao Ronghua, Secretary of the Party Group and President of the Guizhou Provincial High People's Court, believes that the agreement will contribute significantly to advancing the rule of law, technological innovation, and talent cultivation. It will make "industry-academia-research-use" cooperation a reality, contributing to the broader goal of building a socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics and promoting the rule of law in China. He hopes all parties involved will continue to strengthen communication and collaboration, driving forward the modernization of the judicial system to ensure fairness and justice in every case.
