On November 23, the awarding ceremony and works broadcasting show of the 16th National Advertising Art Design Competition for College Students (NAADCCS) was grandly held at the Dongyi International Media Industry Park in Beijing. Zhang Bo, a faculty member from the Department of Journalism of the School of Communication, and Kong Xiangqiao, a master’s student in Journalism and Communication (2022 cohort), were invited to attend the event and brought home Guizhou University’s first-ever national first prize in this competition. In addition, faculty and students from the School of Communication and the College of Fine Arts won one national second prize, two national third prizes, and three honorable awards in this year’s competition.
Distinguished guests at the event included Zhou Yuanqing, former Vice Minister of Education and former President of the China Association of Higher Education; Han Zaifen, a deputy to the National People’s Congress, Vice President of the China Theatre Association, National Class-I Actor, and President of the Zaifen Huangmei Art Theatre; Zhang Daliang, Vice President of the China Association of Higher Education and former Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education; Liu Yuguang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Center for Student Services and Development, Ministry of Education; and Zhang Guotao, Vice President and Secretary General of the China Collegial Association for Visual Art. Over 20 awards, including National First Prizes, Second Prizes, Outstanding Supervisor Awards, and Outstanding Participating Institution Awards, were presented during the event. Thirty representatives from challenge sponsors and nearly 1,700 faculty members and students from 301 universities across the country attended the ceremony.
The National Advertising Art Design Competition for College Students, guided by the China Association of Higher Education and hosted by the Teaching Steering Committee for Journalism and Communication Programs under the Ministry of Education, is the largest and most inclusive national-level competition for college students in this field. It features high participation rates among universities and students and boasts a high level of entries. It is also one of the top ten A-level national academic competitions for university students listed in the competition directory authorized by the Ministry of Education. This year’s competition received over 770,000 entries submitted by 1,873 universities across 29 regional divisions. Following university-level initial reviews, regional evaluations, and national finals, 257 entries were awarded National First Prizes, and 794 entries received National Second Prizes.
