Guizhou University stood out in the highly competitive category of regular undergraduate universities, earning the "First Rank" honor for its outstanding performance. The result was announced at the summary meeting for Guizhou Province’s 2023 Comprehensive Assessment on July 12.
Throughout 2023, Guizhou University, guided by the Provincial Assessment Committee and the Provincial Higher Education Comprehensive Assessment Leadership Group, fully implemented key directives from the central and provincial governments. The university seized major opportunities, such as the joint provincial-ministerial development, "Double First-Class" initiative (an initiative aiming to build world first-class university and discipline), and the 2022 National Development Plan. With a focus on high-quality growth, Guizhou University made notable strides, significantly improving its overall strength and providing critical talent and technological support for the province’s development.
In 2024, Guizhou University will continue to follow the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and will implement the policies of the 20th Party Congress and related meetings. The university is committed to aligning with the province’s strategic goals. By concentrating on critical tasks such as developing the "Six Major Industrial Bases" (bases for deep processing of resources, new energy power batteries and materials, computing power support,liquor production, comprehensive energy and equipment manufacturing) and promoting "Efficient Resource Utilization," Guizhou University aims to use the assessment process as a "benchmark," "guide," and "accelerator" to inspire internal motivation. Together, the university community will work toward high-quality development, making greater contributions to Guizhou's modernization efforts and showcasing the "GZU spirit."
