On August 19, the 6th China-ASEAN International Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, co-hosted by Guizhou University and Southwest University, took place at the Red Maple Hall of the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week Permanent Venue. Wang Hui, Chief Inspector of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, and Wang Jinrong, Vice President of Guizhou University, attended the opening ceremony of the competition.
In her speech, Wang Hui said that the China-ASEAN International Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition has become an important part of Guizhou Province’s innovation and entrepreneurship efforts. Since its inception in 2018, the competition has seen continuous improvements in quality and increasing in influence. She hoped that the platform would achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. She also stressed the importance of project cooperation and technology transfer among universities, which will enhance the Belt and Road Initiative and promote a peaceful and prosperous community between China and ASEAN countries.
Wang Jinrong, on behalf of Guizhou University, extended greetings to all guests and participants in his speech. He said that since the inception of the China-ASEAN International Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the University has been focusing on the fundamental task of moral education, and addressing themes such as Guizhou’s cultural tourism, rural revitalization, and overall well-being. The University has nurtured a range of innovative and entrepreneurial projects aimed at stimulating the innovation and entrepreneurial drive of international students and providing support for high-quality development with a global perspective. He hoped that participating universities and teams would effectively utilize the China-ASEAN International Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship platform to explore future cooperation potentials, and promote the long-term development of education between China and ASEAN countries.
